Please tell us briefly what your grades can't capture about who you are, what you have achieved, and why we'd be missing out if we relied only on GPA and standardized tests. (This is a separate question from the essay prompt.)If relevant, please indicate the approximate number of credits you have earned from pre-college programs like AP, Dual Enrollment, International Baccalaureate, or other college-level courses. (Your answer will not affect your eligibility.)Fredonia Honors Program Essay Prompts What distinguishes an Honors student from a non-Honors student? That question is not easy to answer. Part of the answer may come down to drive: to the intrinsic motivation to be engaged and to go deeper with assignments and experiences. To learn more about you, we invite you to answer one of the following prompts. The form of your response may be written (min. 750 words, framed in any professional or creative genre), multimedia (e.g., video, podcast, slides presentation), or aesthetic/innovative content (e.g., an original artwork or musical composition accompanied by an artist’s statement, an entrepreneurial solution or pitch deck accompanied by a brief explanation).1. What is the major issue facing your generation, and why haven’t prior generations yet gotten this right? How do you plan to use some or all of your college experience, including the opportunities presented to you through the Fredonia Honors Program, to prepare you for tackling this issue? What motivates you to address it?2. How have you drawn on research skills to dig deeper into a topic you are passionate about? Tell us what the topic is or was, how (and where) you researched it, and then, we hope, verified and shared the information in some form? Choose an example that either originates outside of a school assignment or goes well beyond the parameters of a school assignment. Help us understand why you were driven to do more and how you shared or acted on what you learned.3. Write a letter to your future self offering advice regarding what your three top priorities going into college should be and what lesser priorities you may be prepared to let go of in order to focus on these three. What practical steps will you take to ensure you advance your three top goals once you arrive at Fredonia? How can the Fredonia Honors Program help you do so?
